1840 2d Mulready lettersheet (Stereo a90), from Carnarvon to Bangor and beautifully cancelled by crisp strike of a red Maltese Cross, the reverse with Carnarvon dispatch cds for SE.22.1840 in black; minor peripheral faults and a vertical filing fold at right nevertheless an attractive example of fine appearance. 1840 2d Mulready Lettersheet Stereo a91. Very fine used example neatly cancelled by a red MC sent from Kelso to Edinburgh. Backstamped by a Kelso dispatch datetstamp for MY.23.1840 and an Edinburgh arrival for MY.24.1840. A very attractive "May Date" Mulready and recorded in May date book. Scarce early usage. (Image)

1840 Mulready 2d wrapper selection comprising one unused (Stereo a109) and three used with 1840 (Stereo a96) addressed to Barton with Lichfield cds, 1842 (Stereo unknown) addressed to Ireland with Stevenage dispatch and undated (Stereo a201) addressed to Bedford Row cancelled by oily ‘70’ in oval of bars and red ‘FleetStWC’ straight-line hs. 1840 2d Mulready Envelope (Forme 1, Stereo a203). Very fine used example sent from Liverpool to Birmingham, neatly cancelled with a black MC and backstamped accordingly for MY.8.1841. Also showing a black imprint on lower flap "Webb, L'pool" for Waring Webb of Liverpool (MA490g). Extremely rare, one of only two recorded examples of these imprints on a 2d Mulready. Ex. "Mayflower".
