H.R. Harmer, Inc. Sale - 3019

United States, British Commonwealth, and Foreign Stamps, Covers, - May 17-19, 2017

Our 3019th Sale presents a diverse array of material. Advanced collections of United States postal reply cards, Danish and Newfoundland airmails, and United States possessions are sure to please the specialists in these fascinating fields, while an old-time dealer warehouse accumulation of over 200 cartons will prove ideal for those looking to bolster their stock. As always, we are sure there is something for everyone to be found in the pages of our catalogue.

The catalogue opens with an attractive array of proofs and essays, as well as United States #1 covers from a number of different cities. It is towards the end of the first session when things get even more interesting; rarely-seen covers from the Philippines, Hawaii, and other possessions are sure to elicit considerable interest. Session Two finds us offering a small but interesting selection of British Commonwealth (take special note of the Newfoundland airmails), as well as worldwide stamps and covers. Our third and final session will feature the most voluminous array of collections we have presented in a number of years; if at all possible, you will want to conduct viewing in person in the days leading up to the sale. Individual highlights in the sale include:

  • US 3c 1851 Dull red block of 21, new discovery found inside of a 19th century book (Lot 1076)
  • US 15c 1869 Type I vertical strip of three (Lot 1160) Jamaica 3sh 1919-21 Violet-blue and orange, "C" of "CA" missing from watermark (Lot 2080)
