image 1873, $5.00 STATE SEWARD GREEN & BLACK UNUSED, #O69, well-centered with clear, almost proof-like impressions, without gum, slightly irregular perfs at left, a beautiful stamp with well-balanced margins, very fine, with 1997 and 2021 P.F. certs., cat. $3,750.00

This stamp ranks as #1 on the StampAuctionNetwork census as it achieved a $5,400.00 realization at auction in 2002. The high value State Officials is a very difficult issue to find in premium centering. Only a handful of this issue have been graded by PSE and the highest grade for an unused (no gum) stamp is '70'.
