image 1908 (Feb 24) "Treasury" O.H.M.S cover from Port Moresby to the General Post Office, Berne, Switzerland, bearing 1907 Small Papua overprint 1d vertical pair, 2d and 2½d, 1907 Large Papua perf 11 ½d strip of three and Small Papua perf 12½ 4d, reverse with "POST OFFICE / GRANVILLE" wax seal and datestamps of Cooktown (Mar 5), Brisbane and Bern (Apr 17). image Nepa / Tiveri. 1918 (Nov 30) Registered cover to W.T Wilson in England bearing 1911-15 ½d pair, 2d and 1916 1d all cancelled by the very scarce "NEPA / PAPUA" c.d.s (Lee 81), a fifth strike on the front, backstamped at Sydney and London. The tiny office at Nepa opened in 1910 to service the Lakekamu Goldfield, and closed in 1920; from 1910 until 1917 it was moved to Tiveri but continued to use the Nepa c.d.s. A very scarce cancel used at Tiveri, this cover illustrated by Lee on page 37 of his book. Photo on Page 216. (Image1)

image Tahira. 1926 (Mar 15) Commercial cover to USA franked 3d (S.G. 98) cancelled by the very scarce "TAHIRA / PAPUA" c.d.s, a second strike alongside, backstamped at Sydney. The office at Tahira opened in December 1925 to serve the small New Guinea Copper Co. settlement; it closed ten months later in October 1926 shortly before the collapse of the Copper Co. Port Moresby - Dead Letter Office. 1915 (Dec 22) Cover from Port Moresby to Scotland, redirected several times with datestamps of Glasgow (Feb 12), Holywell, Melton Mowbray (Feb 15) and Melton Mowbray, and violet boxed "REBUT / Inconnu". Returned with backstamps of Singapore and violet "DEAD LETTER OFFICE / PAPUA" (Mar. 28, Lee 107), the sender not located so sent to Australia for disposal with red "DEAD LETTER OFFICE / BRISBANE" backstamp (May 4). Scarce, three examples of this D.L.O datestamp recorded by Lee, used between 1915 and 1933.

image Postage Due Mail. 1933 Underpaid covers to Ernest Panton in the Cayman Islands with Centenary issue stamps applied upon arrival as dues, an April 11th cover from Port Moresby franked ½d + 1d, handstamped "TAX" (Lee 102A) and charged 1d; and Dec 4th cover from Ioma franked ½d pair, violet c.d.s and matching boxed "DEFICIENT POSTAGE / FINE (2d)" (Lee 103B), charged 2d. Philatelic but unusual, the Ioma Deficient Postage handstamp scarce (a virtually identical cover of the same date illustrated by Lee on page 57). (2). Photo on Page 216. (Image1)
