STOCKTON: Empire Back real photo card 'Dismantling/Stockton/1.3.08 Pit', minor blemishes, unused. [In 1896, a fire in the coalmine, near Newcastle, killed two workers. Nine workers investigating the blaze died from gas inhalation. The subsequent Inquiry resulted in important workplace reforms]
1916 Pine Creek Railway real photo card 'Engineers taking levels/at the 35 mile washaway/Pine Ck Railway/Jan 26th 1916', minor corner bends, unused; and from the same incident 'Unloading ballast/35 mile washaway/Pine Ck rly/24-1-16', unfortunately damaged at L/R but a super image. Among the best Northern Territory cards we have seen.
Department of Public Instruction view cards 1915 'A Country School Swimming Pool' (the local river; 'PAID/1D 1JY15/BRISBANE' cds), 1922 'Country School Garden' with tiny children (KGV 1½d red-brown punctured 'OS') & 1926 'A Suburban School' (KGV 1d green punctured 'OS'), minor defects. Very scarce.

1910 Railway real photo card 'Turning first sod/Dallarnil Rway/29.10.1910", to Mackay with message "...I took it last Saturday at Cordalba. Hon WJ Paget is turning the first sod, a couple of light creases. A super card that is probably a one-off.
1915 Panama-Pacific Exhibition 'Barron Gorge, Cairns Railway', 'Picking Grapes for Market, Roma WQ' and 'View overlooking Woombye, North Coast Line...', all used within the United States at 'BARNETT/MO', 'BERKELEY/CAL' & 'SAN DIEGO/CAL' both with 'PANAMA CALIFORNIA/EXPOSITION/SAN DIEGO 1915' slogan. Rare trio.
