1857-59 Hillman Lithographs Imperf 2d black/Indian red SG 16, largely full margins with a small inclusion at the top, minor Pre-Printing Paper Fold at L/R, light 15-bars '2' cancel of Perth, Cat £850. A remarkable stamp on which the design is so lightly printed as to be difficult to discern against the deep red paper, reminiscent of the Tasmania 4d chrome-yellow Printed on Both Sides where the impression on the reverse is virtually unrecognisable.
RAILWAY STAMPS: ½d, 1d pink (fault at U/L), 9d, 1/-, 1/6d orange, 2/- (closed tear), 2/6d, 4/-, 5/- & 10/- turquoise (pulled perf) each with typewritten 'Specimen.', very fresh & mostly very fine with full unmounted o.g. [We surmise that this "set" was prepared c.1924, in which year new values of 1/3d & 1/6d were introduced. The new colours were introduced in 1923. Elsmore Online lists a similar set - values or number of stamps not stated - with typewritten 'SPECIMEN', Cat $900. This set is superior to Derek Pocock's mounted set that sold at the Prestige auction of 23.9.2011 for $786]
