image 1853 'Regulations for the Guidance of the Post Office Department under the [Post Office Act, 1853]' original documents of 25.10.1853 & 1.11.1853 (the date the Couriers were issued) addressing the issuing of the new stamps, the method for cancelling same & the requirement to write the office name on the letter "until Stamps are provided with moveable dates", postage rates, list of officers entitled to the franking privilege, various forms, etc, the pages removed from the original binding, the last leaf with a repaired tear otherwise very fine. Important & instructive.
