QUEEN VICTORIA? - UNUSUAL REGISTERED "NOT KNOWN" COVER FROM BELFAST - 31 Jan. 1866 env. registered from Belfast vaguely addressed to "Lady Victoria, London" with 1d Red plates single plus strip of four all tied by light 62 duplexes, but endorsed "Not known" on the reverse, and also endorsed in red "Try Her Majesty the Queen" on the front so apparently successfully delivered to her! If only we knew what had been inside... The first registered pre-1880 cover addressed to the Queen that we can recall having seen. Sold by Cavendish in 2016 for £168.
