image RARE H-RATED "ISLE OF MAN" FROM RAMSEY & MARY McINTYRE GROUP OF COVERS: 1809 E with enclosed letter (ref draft of £20 & commenting on how '...the Manx gentry but seldom reach an advanced age!' ) to Northumberland with ms '6' & '1/10' both cancelled in pen and replaced with '2/2', reverse with rare s/l "ISLE OF MAN" (IM4) (torn through, still displays well). Plus 1826-8 group (6) all to Mary McIntyre inc. 1826/7 EL (2) to Douglas and rated '1/5½'(d) with framed "PAID/AT/GLASGOW" on front or with Glasgow cds on rear, rated '1/5'(d) with Scottish wheel tax h.s. on front, and 1827 Glasgow to Douglas & 1827/8 Douglas to Glasgow (3) all apparently carried privately and without markings. RARE RAMSEY IOM MARK PLUS RARE YARMOUTH IW - Oct. 1845 EL to Derry paid in cash with "ISLE OF MAN" cds & red boxed Dublin ds on the front with "Ramsey/Isle of Man" Jay IM52 'H' on the flap, 1846 env. to Montreal paid '1/2' and with scarce "CASTLETOWN-ISLE OF MAN" udc on the back, and 1940s envs. (2) ex IOM internment/POW camps to London or Manchester, one with letter still enclosed.
