1774/1865 Scottish Islands: An unusual & very scarce group of 13, mainly pre-stamp or stampless, covers/entires. We note very useful town/village marks including 2-line 'Broad/Ford' -1840 & Broadford cds (1865) -(Skye), 'Portree' (Skye) (black- straight line) 1830 & (boxed) in blue(3) or black(2) -1840-1850. 'Lochmaddy' (North Uist) 1846. 'Dunvegan' (Skye) 1790. 2-line 'Uist to / Dunvegan ' on 1837 entire from South Uist. A 1774 outer letter sheet from 'John MacLeod of Raasay' to Old Aberdeen(no postal markings). Also an 1822 entire letter with boxed 'Clachan' & backstamp boxed 'Oban'.
