"GREENOCK" + "SHIP": 1789-92 covers inc. a 1792 E ex Halifax, Nova Scotia to Rothesay endorsed "Per Schooner Joseph Caper" with both "GREENOCK" & "SHIP" arrival hs's, endorsed "To be paid in the Office at Greenock"; a 1792 EL ex St. John's, New Brunswick to Bonaw with a circular "GREEN/OCK" hs, rated "6[d]" in ms. On arrival stamped with "BONAW" hs on back and again on the front where it is preceded with the words "returnd [sic] from" in ms and redirected to Edinburgh where a "JY/26" Bishop's Mark was applied; and a 1789 EL ex Montreal to Bonaw with a straight line "GREENOCK" hs applied on arrival and endorsed "Greenock, 27 Augt forwarded by A & DC & CO.
