This is another example of a stamp with a modest rating of which Don Pearce was unable to acquire a finer single]

BLUE OVERPRINT: 'E.B.' on Rouletted 4d dull purple with Nick in the Upright of 'E' which is also apparent on the Strong 'E.B.' Offset on the reverse, from the left of the sheet with marginal vertical watermark line at left, rouletting on three sides & cut from the sheet at the top just into the design, large-part o.g. Rated RRRR+. Ex Rev James Mursell. Larger & more attractive than the two normal 'Besancon' examples, that sold for SFr1575 & SFr 1210 (2020) respectively.
