1706-1772 Entire letters all with Bristol handstamps, the 1706 letter with part strike of the very scarce straight line "BRISTOL", 1738 and 1739 letters with good strikes of "B" containing "ris / tol", 1747-72 letters with "B" containing "RIS / TOL" (6, various sizes). Five letters sent by Cross Post, one with a "BATH" handstamp, one 1738 letter endorsed "By the Chester Bag to Northop", four addressed to inns. A few small faults, the majority fine, a good group. 1840-1925 Entire letters, covers and cards including 1840 entire letter with a 1d black (JB plate 2, three margins) tied by a fine red Maltese Cross, 1850 entire letter from Kingsbridge to Wellington with 1d red tied by blue "418" numeral and a fine "MISSENT - TO / BRISTOL STATION" handstamp alongside, also undated circles, postage dues, etc. (48).
