1851/60: 6 d. olive-yellow, the lower left half of a diagonally bisected adhesive, a superb example with enormous margins showing parts of both neighbouring stamps, in rich colour and neatly tied by blue '8' numeral obliterator in an oval of bars to cover to Moncton. Reverse with CHATHAM despatch (Aug 6, 1858) cds in blue as well as arrival cds in black of the next day. A scarce usage of outmost attractiveness for an advance exhibition collection, presumably the nicest example known. Cert. Holcombe (1993). Gi = £ 3'000.rnProvenance: 87. Corinphila sale (Oct. 1993), lot 5673. (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3) (Image 4) (Image)
