1881 (Dec 28): Provisional handstamp "2" on Official unissued 12 c. pale violet, an unused block of twenty from left side of the pane (2 x 10), with eighteen stamps showing '2' with serifs (Type 23), two stamps with large rounded "2" (Type 24) - thus two se-tenant pairs, of fine fresh colour and superb large part or unmounted og. 1883/1889: Appendix sheet from the De La Rue records, first proposed in 1883 but sufficient stocks were still at hand, with examples (9) shown as "Existing Colours" of which six: in green, rose, blue, slate, lilac and orange are without Duty Plates, the 6 c. brown, 48 c. red-brown and 96 c. olive-bistre as issued in 1876 but all nine stamps are perforated 12 (instead of 14); notations made for placing British Guiana in line with the UPU proposed colours "established by the International Postal Convention for stamps of the value of ½ d. and 1 d." in manuscript. A truly lovely page, illustrated in the 'De La Collection' edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 2323. Unique. (Image 1)(Image)

1889: Keyplates, 12 c. composite Essay in the design of the 1876 issue, with 12 c. lilac imperforate showing POSTAGE & REVENUE handpainted in green at top and value 12 CENTS handpainted in green at base, affixed to card (92 x 61 mm.) with crease well away from the design, marked "C" and dated "Nov 2nd 88" at top and signed off in manuscript "R.S./ 2.11.88" alongside the Essay.
