2d grey with the Watermark Inverted ACSC 7a (SG 35bw) corner block of 6 [L5-6/11-12/17-18] from the U/R of the L/H pane with listed varieties Bauxite Ship in Gulf of Carpentaria [6], Retouched Shading East of Cape York [11], Retouched Upper Frame at Right [12] & Retouched Upper Frame at Left [18] ACSC 7a(1)d/f/g & h, the gum a little yellowed otherwise superb!, Cat $2250++ (£570++ for mounted) plus a significant premium for the varieties. An exceptional positional piece.
2d grey Die IIA gutter block of 12 (4x3) from the top of the sheet, variable centring, perf separation to the right of the gutter, all but two units are unmounted, Cat $2500+.
2d grey Die IIA block of 4, the first unit with Islands SE of Tasmania being an unlisted advanced state of ACSC 8d, well centred, unmounted, Cat $900++.
2½d indigo with the Watermark Inverted ACSC 11a marginal block of 4 from the top of the sheet, three units - one with a small paper inclusion - are unmounrted, Cat $2100+.
2½d deep blue Plate 2 TS Harrison One-Line Imprint block of 4 ACSC 11B(2)zf within a remarkable block of 40 Pos [2L31- R32/2L55-R56] with Thick Coastline to Western Australia 11(2)da on all five units listed in the ACSC - see footnote 4 below ACSC 9 - and on a few other units plus Pos [2L55] with Very Thick Coastline 11(2)da, then with additional listed varieties on Pos [2L31 32 37 43 59 & 60] plus that listed by Greg Pope on Pos [2L39], centring variable but many are well to very well centred, the yellowed gum is characteristic of this printing but there is a band of 'suntanning' in the left-hand margin clear of the stamps, very lightly mounted on only the four corner units and in the lower margin where there are a few split/reinforced perforations including behind the imprint, Cat $7740+ for a mounted imprint block of 4 including three varieties, nine further mounted varieties & the four mounted corner stamps, and unmounted normal or unlisted variety singles x23. 5/- grey & yellow with Kangaroo's Ears Omitted ACSC 44(V)n [L55], some irregular perfs, lightly mounted, Cat $1500. A dramatic variety. NPC Certificate (2021) states "A rare variety of which only four mint examples are known".
5/- grey & pale yellow-orange TS Harrison Imprint pair with the R/H unit with Tsunami off the NSW Coast as ACSC 44ze but the L/H unit with Short Grass and White-Faced Kangaroo, quite well centred, ink notation "4/8/26" in the margin, very lightly mounted across the gutter, Cat $3750+. The vignette variety on the L/H unit [L60] was not present on the Harrison Imprint pieces in the Stuart Hardy, 'Goldmine' and Peter O'Rourke sales. Was it Substituted ? Compare with the image for the previous lot.
