image 1917, 1¢ green, complete A.E.F. booklet of 300, unwatermarked, perf 11 (Scott 498f/BK64), o.g., never hinged, the front cover detached, but all ten panes and interleaving still attached to back cover by original staples; the stamps with fresh color and clean detail; each pane with lightly penciled position number in bottom margin, front cover with small stained spots, a small tear, and a piece missing near staples, Fine to Very Fine, Scott value for ten never hinged panes is $17,000; a complete booklet catalogues $22,500, an extremely rare item, as very few intact booklets have survived, ex "Lake Shore".

Johl wrote that a small number of stamps were printed in this distinctive shade, early in the printing process. The later printings were made in the normal shade, causing this to be infinitely scarcer than the normal color
