image Venezuela, 1903 Steamship & Coat of Arms issues, presentation sheet. Issues lacking only the 50c steamship, three sets of each arranged and affixed on sheet, all with manuscript signature of Antonio Sucre, additional handstamp of his initials on Arms types and manuscript "Sucre" only on ship types, all canceled with large blue control; corner nick affecting one of the 5c Arms issues at top right, otherwise Very Fine, a rare presentation set as copies of these stamps with signatures are extremely scarce, ex-Gebauer, with 1989 Holcombe certificate.

Purple straight line postmark (SAN-4300) on ca. 1886 cover to Madera, franked with manuscript canceled 1883, 2¢ red brown; cover slightly reduced at right and light stain at top affecting postmark, F.-V.F., this is the only recorded strike of Perris's first postmark.

image San Diego, Cal., Dec 18 (San Diego). Clear strike of cds and manuscript "12½" cent rating on 1850 folded cover addressed to the Governor of the State of California, San Jose Cal., inside 1850 docketing; file folds, Very Fine.
Estimate; $300 - 400.

A very early intrastate letter from the tiny village of San Diego, population of 600, to the Governor Peter Hardeman Burnett at the State Capital in San Jose. Examples of the 12½¢ rate within California are quite scarce especially only 90 days after statehood.

At the entrance to the Royal Gorge of the Arkansas, Canon City became a transportation and supply center for the surrounding territory. This office was established in Kansas Territory December 13, 1860 and transferred to Colorado Territory in 1861.

The Dawkins post office opened on Feb. 5, 1885 and was discontinued in 1907 and moved to Pinon. Dawkins was a railroad station on the D. & R.G.R.R.

Edgerton was the first station north of Colorado Springs on the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. Only manuscript territorial postmarks are known.
