image Great Britain Mainly Used Collection in 4 Stockbooks, 1840-2010, starts off with a used Penny Black (3 margins) then with a selection of perforated and imperforate Penny Reds, etc., with values up to the 10sh, many identified by plate number. The Kings follow with similar completeness, with Edwards to the 5sh, George V "Seahorses" to the 10sh. Mint stamps start to appear in the mid-1960s but only makes for about 5% of the collection. A very nice variety of material, with no duplication seen, except for the odd used and mint of the same stamp and the several envelopes of sorted used Machin heads included. Nice overall quality collection. Scans only show a small portion. (Image)

A great lot for the enthusiast or for someone looking to start a new collecting area. See our online photos for a glimpse at the contents. (Image)

image Great Britain Collections in 13 Albums, Stockbooks and Binders, 1880s to 1980s, with many thousands of mainly used stamps, though we noted some mint hinged and never hinged in some of the stockbooks. We also noted many stamps from the regions of Scotland and Wales as well as Northern Ireland and a number of items identified in 102 and other dealer cards. A great lot for the adventurous organizer and variety seeker as we did not check for watermarks, phosphor, paper types and perforations. (Image)

image Great Britain Collections and Dealer Stock, 1840 to Late 1950s, consisting of thousands of mostly used stamps on black stock sheets, loose album pages, dealer cards, quadrille pages and in envelopes and glassines. The early issues are faulty or have smudged postmarks, with most issues in the period represented and significant duplication of many items. We note Penny Blacks, Reds and 2p Blues (some of these three with faults), some better sets and singles, two sets of "London Parcel Delivery Service" labels and small collections of "The Postmarks of Scotland"; newspaper and printed matter postmarks; and 11 covers of Free Frankings. There is also a group of several hundred GB Offices (Tangier, Morocco, M.E.F., etc.) from George V to early Elizabeth II. This lot promises many hours of organizing and likely has nice surprises, as we did not check for varieties. There is very good catalogue value here. Our online photos provide a good sense of the contents. (Image)

image Great Britain Collection of Mint and Used, 1841-2019, in 3 springback albums, 10 stockbooks, 4 binders, about 60 stock pages or loose album pages and two very full bags of off-paper singles and sets mostly organized by issue in glassines and dealer bags. The collection starts off with Penny Blue and Penny Red stamps in a stockbook along with other Victorian and Edwardian issues (some faulty, as expected), then fair representation of a good portion of issues through the 1980s along with many items well into the 2010s. There are many thousands of stamps here, including over £2,000 in modern face value postage (singles, se-tenant strips, blocks and booklets), and much duplication in some of the stockbooks - we note many clear postmarks worth investigation. Also includes mint and used issues from British Offices (Qatar, A.E.F., M.E.F., Morocco, Tangier), Lundy and Channel Islands including Jersey and Guernsey. This large lot with very good catalogue and high face value will bring many, many hours of organizing for the collector and promises good potential for resellers. Viewing would bring the best information though our 40 online photos do provide a good overview. (Image)

image Great Britain Mint and Used Collection and Accumulation, to 2012 on homemade pages in 15 binders. The collection starts with a very presentable Penny Black (see scan), and Penny Red plates, then becomes sparse to 1948. From 1948 on, mint stamps are accompanied by used duplicate copies with very few used copies after 1995. From 1976 on to 2012, mint stamps all appear to be MNH and the collection is close to complete. We counted face value above 20p only from 1976 on to be £1,721, where non-denominated 1st stamps are valued at 85p, 2nd at 66p and E stamps at £1.70. Phosphor and many Machin varieties are present. We also saw airmail, special delivery and two sets of postage dues, as well as the 1991 to 1998 UK Duck Stamps. Regional issues are included. Two binders are devoted to FDCs and PHQ cards, with a few more FDCs and postal stationery in the stamp binders. Faults on some older material, then consistently very fine. (Image)
