image France Mostly Mint Collection on Pages, 1875-1987, all neatly mounted (in black mounts) and described on good quality quadrille pages. Each stamp has a Scott and an Yvert number under it, and we note three major sections, the first being regular issues 1876 to 1987. This part is about 95% complete from 1930 to the end, probably 50% or so before that with both commemoratives and definitives, we noted #246 (Scott $600) noting the presence of coils but not many souvenir sheets. The second part is composed of semi-postal stamps 1914 to 1981, close to complete from 1936-on, with a good selection before that, with a Scott catalogue value up to 1960 of $2,841. The last part is composed of airmail, postage due, European Council and precancel issues, all strongest in the 1940s to 1980s period, with good value before then. The majority of the collection is mint, with some used in the early years only, and it starts to be all never hinged at least from the 1960's to the end. Very nice quality and huge catalogue value here, see scans for a small sample. (Image)

Mix of hinged and never hinged, overall fine to very fine, see our scans for a glimpse. (Image)

image France Extensive Mint Collection in Six Lighthouse Albums with Slipcases, with pages to 2012 and stamps to 1997. The collection starts with a few Sower issues, followed by a scattering of semi-postal and regular issues, starts to be close to complete in about 1923, and not missing many regular issues to the end. Most of what is missing is either before 1923 or early souvenir sheets or early back of the book. We did note the presence of Red Cross booklets (1958 is the oldest). The collection contains a mix of lightly hinged and never hinged up to the 1950s, then becoming mostly never hinged to the end. The collection is supplemented by a Lighthouse binder containing year collections for 1998 to 2001, 2003 to 2005 and 2013, including souvenir sheets. These have not yet been placed in the Lighthouse albums. The Yvert & Tellier catalogue value should be easily over €6,500, and the albums alone should retail at well over $800. The collection comes with a stock of black crystal mounts (48 Lighthouse or Safe packages of different sizes, with guillotine). Very nice quality throughout, fresh and fine to very fine, see photos for an idea. (Image)

image France Collection / Accumulation on Hundreds of Pages, 1850s to 1990s, consisting of a 4 inch high stack of pages holding thousands of mint and used stamps, with both definitives and commemoratives. There is a very wide variety of material, with many pages devoted to studies of the various definitives. We note a great amount of useful postmarks, many shades, mint and used blocks, mint multiples with plate inscriptions, perfins, used pairs and larger multiples, many booklets and panes, mint coil strips, mint dated corners, a group of used stamps with advertising tabs, and much more. The collection also contains a quantity of useful articles on some of the issues, as well as two stockbook containing mostly duplicated stock. A tremendous collection and a rare opportunity for the enthusiast. We strongly recommend viewing this one as we only photographed a small representative portion of the contents. (Image)

image France Valuable Mint and Used Collection in a Thick Scott Album, 1849 to 1984, with pages to 1990,a strong collection filled with key and high quality items. Starts off with a great page of imperforate and perforated Cérès and Napoléon issues, mostly with 4 large margins, noting many extra shades, postmark interest, very fine #2, a strip of 4 of the 80c Napoléon imperforate, three shades of the 1fr imperforate Cérès, and more including a 5fr Napoléon with certificate (this page alone catalogues $8,506). The collection goes on just as strong from there, with mostly used Peace and Commerce, mint and used Merson, Blanc and subsequent issues, and in the 1910s there starts to be more mint than used to the end. Just a few of the better items noted hereafter include #197 (mint NH), NH set of 1925 Exposition, a NH 1927 Strasbourg Exposition souvenir sheet with show postmark, a NH Pexip 1937 souvenir sheet with corner creases only, many complete sets, etc. Not missing many stamps to be complete in regular issues to 1984 (mostly near the end). As per Scott tradition, the collection then goes on with the semi-postals, again with a strong showing with many better items throughout (probably 90% complete to 1979). Airmails are equally strong, with mint C102, very fine used C15, etc. No dues. We note that many of the missing stamps in the album are in accompanying glassines and envelopes, and that there are often a mint and a used of some issues. A very nice collection which is easily worth our low starting price of Rsv. $4,000. (Image)
