image Collections and Stock of Mint and Used, from the late 1800s to early 1990s, consisting of tens of thousands of stamps, with some coils, blocks, matched sets of inscription plate bocks, souvenir sheets, and sheets, displayed in 5 stockbooks, 4 albums (1 Lighthouse album with slipcase), and 2 binders, or sorted by issue in envelopes filling one "banker's box". Collections are not complete but offer a good selection of mostly used from the SQs and Jubilees (low denominations) to issues from the late 1980s, while stock is mostly used with earlies then increasingly mint and mint never hinged as we progress towards modern issues. We noted various level of organization depending on the volume, with a wide range of items including a good selection of Centennials, some back of the book, including a glassine full of 5c Registration (F2), special delivery, overprinted officials, a small group of Nova Scotia issues, a large roll of several hundred 2c Wilding coil stamps, also some precancelled issues, Christmas seals, revenues, bundleware and so on. Lot is as received, unchecked for varieties, therefore a closer inspection could yield some surprises. See photos for a small glimpse of the content. (Image)

image Collection of Precancels and OHMS 4-Hole Officials, 1885 to 1977, consisting of many hundreds of singles, multiples and blocks filling four double-sided black stock sheets plus many 102 cards and glassines. We noted a few private perfins among the regular official issues. The precancels start with a 1c Small Queen and run though most definitive issues from Maple Leaf through the reign of the three Kings and into the Elizabethan era to the Caricature issue. Many MOON (Money Office Order Numbers) and individual city markings and regular bar types are included and there are some varieties also: inverted, partial-overprint and misplaced precancel. Bundles remain unchecked by us for broken bars, missing bits of overprints, etc. so there is good potential for some interesting finds. A clean, attractive lot to fill gaps in an existing collection or a great start to a new collecting area. See photos online for a good overview of this niche material. (Image)

image Comprehensive Mint and Used Collection in a Hingeless Lighthouse Album with Slipcase, 1851 to 1985, starts off used only, with Pence issues including #s 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12 (these may have small faults and/or cut into, etc, still nice appearance), then complete First Cents (no #16), complete basic set of Large Queens plus extras such as 6 values with watermarks (1c, 2c, 3c, 6c, 12½c and 15c), a #30d (on Pirie paper without watermark, w/ 2016 Greene cert.), a #26a (w/ 2003 Greene cert.) and some others that are mis-identified. Small Queens are present with Ottawa and Montreal printings, plus some 11½ x 12 issues. Complete registration issues including some 11½ x 12. Jubilees are complete to the $5, with a mix of mint and used, followed by complete used Leafs, Numerals, Edwards and Québecs. Admirals are complete for basic set but also include all coil singles, hinged imperforate pairs, WAR TAX overprints (mint hinged, 50c no gum), and complete used War Tax issues. Scroll and Arch are mostly used, and material after that (up to the end) is mint, becoming only never hinged in the 1970s (with a few used varieties here and there). Back of the book has a high degree of completion (mint and used) with airmails, special delivery and dues, also includes a good selection of mint and used 4 hole, and used 5-hole OHMS perfins (incl. nice c.d.s. cancels, a few blocks), overprinted G and OHMS appear to be complete mint. There are odd faults up to and including the Large Queens, afterwards generally good quality and fine to very fine. See our many photos for an idea of the contents. (Image)

image Very Valuable Collection of Better Mint and Used, 1851-1951, as received, the early material is on black stock pages, then on album pages to the end. A powerful collection which starts off with strong Pence issues, with #s 1a, 2b, 4 (x3), 5d, 7 (unused), 7a, 8 (x2), 9, 10 (with VGG cert), 11 (x2), 12, 13 (with VGG cert), then a good showing of used and unused First Cents including shades, such as a #16 (with PSAG cert), unused #s 14, 15, 17b, 20. Starting with the Large Queens and on to the end, stamps are mostly mint, hinged or no gum at first, changing to mostly never hinged later. We note 22 Large Queens (#33 is used) with shades and many thin papers, Small Queens show 34 mint stamps to the 50c, with some early shades, complete Leafs and Numerals with duplication, Jubilees are complete to the $5 (missing $3 and $4), with duplication (28 stamps in all), complete Admirals (with War Tax, coils, blocks, etc.), Edwards, Québecs, and pretty much complete to the end, with some duplication such as the 50c Bluenose (x3), $1 Parliament (x2), $1 Cavell (x3), and more, including some back of the book such as a complete set of airmails, etc. A wonderful opportunity for the eBay seller, we have conservatively counted the catalogue value, for example, all the early mint was counted as having no gum, all the later mint was counted as being hinged (even though there are many NH throughout), so the actual catalogue value will be higher. There are faults on some of the early issues, especially on the expensive items, but the overall collection is fine to very fine. We have scanned every page online. Rsv. $12,000. (Image)

image Valuable Mint and Used Collection on Scott Pages, 1852 to 1980, a collection that stands out by all the items that are not normally seen in these. Starts out with a selection of 9 used Pence, a trade sample proof of the ½d, unused 14b and 19, variety of used First Cents, many mint or used Large and Small Queens, useful mint or used Jubilee group to the $5, and the collection is close to complete to the late 70s. We note complete Leafs and Numerals, Edwards, Québecs, and so on, with Admiral coils, some booklet panes, some plate blocks, 86iii, 145c, etc. The back of the book is fairly well represented with complete airmails, special delivery, overprinted OHMS and G officials, etc, but also has many extras such as semi-official airmail covers, revenues, C1ii, C1iii, a really nice group of 15 Queen Victoria tobacco revenue stamps all with their weight tabs still attached, etc. Faults on some of the early stamps, otherwise overall fine or better, with a mix of hinged and never hinged. A tremendous catalogue value here, and easily worth our starting price. See 36 various pages online. Rsv. $4,600. (Image)

image Extensive and Valuable Mostly Mint Collection of Canada, 1852-1976, on Minkus pages in black or clear mounts and left intact by us, loaded with better valuable and interesting material. The collection starts with a #2 plate proof (not included in catalogue value), used #4 (x2), 5 and 7, then a mix of mint and used through the Cents issue, then mint only to the end starting with a complete basic set of Large Queens and continuing through the Small Queens, Jubilees, Leaf, Numerals and Edwards, featuring never hinged panes of both BK#1 and BK#2, five pages of Admirals (we note many shades and examples of lathework) then appears complete through 1976. The collection is enhanced by many additional items such as all booklet panes and coils (singles and many pairs) from Admirals through Elizabethan, 1927 issues in imperforate-between vertical pairs, an imperforate pair of #146, and a fine Bluenose. Back of the book is strong in the period, with complete air mails and special delivery including two E3, plus F1-F3, the first three dues sets, a set of War Tax with coil singles and pairs for almost all, and what appears to be complete overprinted officials. Not counted in the catalogue value are a few early stamps with major faults and all the material after the mid-1950s, which has good catalogue value. The Elizabethan era has stronger than usual representation of plate blocks, miniature panes and tagged stamps. We noted a few reperforated Large Queens and a few larger hinge remnants, etc. otherwise the condition is overall fine or better. This is a a great opportunity to enhance one's own collection, or to acquire a large amount of good and useful material for the reseller. Rsv. $9,500. (Image)

The collection is mint from then-on, with a few exceptions in the low value Centennials. Jubilees are up to the 50c, complete Leafs and Numerals (20c is used), Edwards to the 20c, complete Québecs and complete Admiral basic set. We note that the majority up to 1950s are hinged, again with a few exceptions, and mostly NH after that. The catalogue value of $13,888 is for up to 1951 only, with a few faulty items not counted (and marked as such, for example a faulty thin paper #4). The face value of the stamps after 1951 comes to over $140. The pencil notes on the pages are not ours, but the catalogue values at bottom right corners are. We note different levels of completeness, some quite full and others not so much, with material ranging from the First Cents issues to about the 1980s, mostly all used but with mint scattered here and there, noting a good quantity of complete sets throughout. We also note many collections with a showing of back of the book issues. Throughout these albums we noted many nice socked on the nose c.d.s. cancels, including RPO, Parlement Provincial / Québec, Toronto - Bathurst / ONT (the latter two on 10c Mounties) and much more, including some precancels.
