1918 Toronto to Bahamas Special Delivery Cover, mailed at Toronto JUN.25.1918 and franked with a 2c + 1c War Tax Admiral, plus a Bahamas 5d Queen's Staircase (E1) single, addressed to Nassau Bahamas. Admiral is tied by a Toronto Exhibition slogan machine and the Bahamas stamp (slightly sulphuretted) is additionally cancelled with a Nassau c.d.s. plus two other free strikes front and back. Back also shows a Manseau QUE broken circle dated JUN.26 (cover was undoubtedly mis-sent there). During a short period, Bahamas Special Delivery stamps were sold in Ottawa, Toronto, Westmount (Montréal) and Winnipeg post offices and could be used on mail destined there, and cancelled upon arrival. 1899 2c Map Stamp Special Delivery Cover, presumably mailed from Galt (corner card is from a Galt business) to Toronto, franked with 5x 2c Map stamps, with "Special Delivery" manuscript at lower left, with stamps cancelled by "Harrisburg & Southampton M.C OCT.20.1899 RPO cancels (plus one free strike) with Toronto same day receiver on back. Most with minor creases and note a few with tears, still a good study group having rarity factors ranging from 30 at Edmonton to 65 at Calgary. Type 1 Barrels are much scarcer than Type 2, as per Robert C. Smith's 2010 Barrel postmarks publication. (Image)

Group of 85 World War I Machine Flag Cancels on Covers and Cards, 1917-1918, all franked with Admirals (saw a few KGV stationery covers), note 8 different flag cancels from 14 different cities across Canada, with Victoria, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Windsor, London, Guelph, Brantford, Toronto, Edmonton, Kingston, Montréal, Fredericton, St John and Halifax. Includes picture post cards, covers with business corner cards, etc. Overall condition is very fine and the majority of the flag cancels are easy to read. (Image)
Two Interesting Bickerdike Flag Cancelled Covers, first is a Toronto AUG.10.1897 Type 7-15 "F" die on 3c Jubilee cover to St Andrews (a scarce first day of use in Toronto for this). Second cover is a Montreal Type 7-7a (Die V) with inverted obliterator on 3c Jubilee cover to Peterboro. This one is opened on 3 sides and is the earliest reported time marking for this invert. Group of 6 Jubilee Franked Covers with Flag Machine Cancels, including four 3c Jubilee covers with complete strikes of Type 4 Jubilee flag cancels (two from Montréal and two from Ottawa). Also a SEP.16.1897 Toronto Type 7 on 3c Jubilee and 1c (x2) Small Queen cover to France (with Cigar, Tobacco and Newspaper advertising handstamp on back), and a SEP.4.1897 Toronto Type 7 "E" flag on 3c Jubilee all-over illustrated (both sides) Chandler cover to Huntsville (SEP.6 squared circle receiver on both sides) re-directed to Parkdale (SEP.8 duplex receiver on back). Group of 216 Covers and Cards with Ontario Squared Circle Postmarks, nice group, with both post cards and postal stationery cards. Noted a Toronto precursor, Type I cancels from Brockville, Dutton, Grimsby, London, London East, Ottawa and St Ann's (RF 50, x7, 5 roughly opened at top, includes scarcer strikes from 1900 and 1901). There are also 44 different Type II cancels, including RF 25 and higher cancels from Alma, Glencoe, Lanark, Lucknow, Roseneath, Stirling, Strathroy, Tara, Waterford, Williamstown and Wooler. Strikes vary in clarity, with some faint, some partial, etc. still overall quality is fine to very fine, with the usual small faults (a Merrickville on front was not counted). (Image)
