image 1908 House of Commons Registered Cover, mailed from the House of Commons in Ottawa on APR.29.1906, with a House of Commons c.d.s. free strike. Sent registered, the cover required to be franked with a 7c Edward, which is tied by a double circle "Ottawa / Canada / Registered Free" datestamp in purple (Davis / Teyssier OR-3i very rare, this being the only recorded strike), as well as an oval "Registered / at the / House of Commons / of / Canada" in black (Davis / Teyssier CR-2ii, very rare, this being one of only 4 recorded strikes in black). The cover is also endorsed by an MPP and addressed to Colorado. It travelled by train to Toronto (APR.30 backstamp) to Niagara Falls (RPO on back). Back of the cover shows a green embossed monogram of the House of Commons, partially covered over by a "Buy Within the British Empire" cinderella stamp. A lovely cover for its many attractive attributes and would be a great addition to an Edward collection (rare use of the 7c) or Free franking exhibit, etc. (Image)
