1897 Jubilee Registered Cover, mailed Ottawa on JUL.20.1897 to Owen Sound and received there on the next day. The cover is franked with a fairly scarce combination of the 2c and 6c Jubilee issues, both tied or cancelled by four "C" in circle (House of Commons?) cancels. Group of 7 QV Leaf and/or Numeral Franked Registered Covers, all dated between 1898 and 1902, with a variety of combination frankings. Four are rated 7c (incl. 3 to the US) and three are rated 8c (incl. 2 to the US). 1906 Picture Postcard to Hanoi Indochina, mailed from montréal on JUN.25.1906 (duplex ties stamp onto picture side) to a Military Hospital in Hanoi, with Tonkin AUG.1 and Hanoi AUG.13 transits on message side, plus an Quang Yen AUG.14 receiver on picture side. The postcard was mailed at the 1c printed matter rate and franked so with a 1c Edward, wrapped across the top which was customary in those days to convey a message. Very fine. (Image)

1917 Registered Special Delivery Cover to Bahamas, mailed from Winnipeg on JAN.18.1917 to Nassau Bahamas with JAN.30 receivers both front and back, through Montreal and New York (JAN.23 transits). The cover was later returned to Winnipeg, again through New York (FEB.3 transit). The cover is franked with a number of Edward issues and a 1c Admiral, for a total of 28c and has a scarce private registration label applied in Winnipeg. There is also a Bahamas E1 Special Delivery stamp applied in Winnipeg for the service to be done in Nassau, which is the better Type I variety of overprint. 600 of these stamps were sent to Canada to be used for this service, and Scott lists Winnipeg as being the better of the usages at $2,000, but states that the use must be before December 13, 1916 (this cover was mailed only one month later). A great cover with many attributes, showing 12 datestamps on back, with a few creases, still fine. (Image)
Group of 6 Edward Registered Domestic and Cross Border Covers, 1908 Toronto to Minneapolis MN, unclaimed and returned (7c rate); 1910 tiny envelope mailed from the British and Foreign Sailors' Society in Toronto to Winnipeg (9c rate, with hole punch, as it may have been used as a bag tag); 1910 Yorkton SK to New York City, single 7c franking with interesting Yorkton registry number postmark; 1910 Victoria drop letter (6c rate); 1911 Hamilton drop letter (6c rate); and 1911 House of Assembly Toronto to Hamilton (7c rate). Group of Five Colourfully Franked Registered Edward Covers to Europe, 1904 Three Rivers to Cherbourg France franked 30c (toning on stamps), 1907 stationery cover Hardisty AB to Brussels Belgium franked 10c, 1910 Ottawa to Germany franked 15c, 1911 Montréal to Germany franked 22c, 1911 stationery cover St Roch de Québec to Barcelona Spain franked 10c. The rate in this period for these countries was 5c for the first oz, plus 3c per oz thereafter, plus 5c registration fee, so here we have single weight, double weight, up to 5 times weight covers.
