Old Time Collection of Admiral Stamps and Covers in a Leather Binder, all written up with extensive research, and starts with the 3c brown and goes to the 10 brown, followed by coils and War Tax issues. The collection is mostly populated by used stamps but almost every denomination has one or more mint (usually hinged) stamp. The collector shows a great many different shades and postmarks, and the War Tax section includes better such as mint #s MR2B and MR2D, unused MR2C, some Die I MR4s, coil War Tax issues, etc. We counted 19 covers (some with faults), mostly registered, including some AR, with a good variety of rates, etc. The collection ends with a page of 3c brown Confederation issues plus a cover. An overall fine or better collection which looks disorganized only because the old black mounts have started to break, still valuable for the enthusiast. See our scans for an overview. (Image)
