1857/68 Transatlantic Covers to France, nine covers with variety of frankings and rates with many sent from California and with "Via Panama" routing instructions, assorted town and transit cancels, manuscript markings, etc., covers include 1857 from Yreka Cal with 12 single, 14 strip of three, 15 single all with pen cancels, 1858 from Yreka Cal with 11, 14 pair on 10c Nesbitt envelope with accountancy marking, 1859 from Camptonville Cal with 33 strip of three wrapped around the edge, 1860 from Placerville Cal with 26 pair, 35 pair, 1867 with 68, 70 pen canceled (2 similar covers), 1867 with 65 pair, 70 pen canceled with a Meadow Lake Cal cancel alongside, 1868 with 71 single franking from Gold Hill Nev, stamps and covers very mixed condition with each having faults to varying degrees, still a VG-Fine selection sure to give the postal historian hours of rate-solving fun
