Clark Coal Yard, Providence, R.I., a gorgeous illustrated advertising cover featuring a working waterfront Coal Yard with a 6-car coal train, a horse-drawn wagon, a 2-masted ship and three coal elevators; the reverse pictures an all-over schematic view of one such "Clark & Littles Elevator" in operation, franked with a 2¢ Black Jack (73) with a bold quartered cork cancel (not tied) and a matching Providence c.d.s. alongside; locally addressed; Extremely Fine. Mex., Dec. 20, 1928, backstamps, to Kansas City, Mo. with Dec. 21 & 22 receivers, and with 1928 Christmas seal affixed to back, signed, "A W Bork, Prescott Az", and with original contents from Bork stating that this cancel was approved by the P.O.D., scarce and early Bork cancel from Las Vegas, N.M., unlisted in Loso and de Windt, on excellent registered cover, Very Fine.

image 1930, Alton, N.H., "Star" fancy cancel, cover (Loso-deWindt 11), blocks of four, cancelled by bold strikes of black fancy cancel on cover, sufficient postage for registration, but no indication it was so handled including no backstamps, attractive blocks on cover; slight toning, otherwise Very Fine, used principally for parcel post, however found use on registered mail until Aug. 16, 1930, when it's use was discontinued.
