KITTS." straightline on the reverse with multiple manuscript ratings; addressed to "Shute in Devonshire" with two strikes of an Oct 21 London Bishopmark, Very Fine. The letter informs the addressee of severe wind damage sustained by the sugarcane crop at his "Golden Rock [St. Kitts] Estate", but assures him "…that your Negroes and Stock have not suffered in the smallest dagree.".
