Philippines, Collection, mounted in Scott National album, 1856-1946, actually appears to be several collections combined, begins with a nice section of Spanish Philippines issues, sparse at the beginning but filling in somewhat towards the end of the period, U.S. occupation begins with several runs on different sets of pages, unused highlights include: #213-217, 220-221, 234, a scattering of the portraits, 319-325, 326 pair, 340-351 pairs plus extras, 354-359 (2 sets), 383-396, C10, C28, C29-C35, C38-C45 (2 sets), E6 NH, J5, O1-O4, N7, N12-N25 (2), NB1-NB3, NO2 used highlights include: 236, numerous portraits, E4, OX6, OX9, also included are numerous marked forgeries for reference and all sorts of oddball varieties, "O.B." handstamps, etc, condition is slightly mixed as you would expect but virtually all of the highlights appear sound and above average, an ecellent accumulation to condense and recombine for an excellent core collection or to break apart for resale, generally Fine to Very Fine or better. Philippines, 1943, 2c Free Philippines Guerrilla Postal Service (series of 1943), corner margin block of 4, unused without gum, Printed in Queensland, Australia by Simpson, Halligan and Company. Sheet margin at bottom, side margin folded under and struck down, scarce and desirable block; light stain in top right corner, otherwise Very Fine, During World War II, this stamp was issued for use on the island of Mindanao.
