image 1916, 2¢ carmine, type I, imperf, with private roulette (Scott 482 var.), a remarkable block of 10, with horizontal center line and, given the wider spacing, appearing to be from the sheet's bottom margin; intensely rich color and clean impression for the stamps themselves, the pin-point rouletting generally nicely placed vertically, running at a slight diagonal horizontally, Very Fine, a scarce item and of interest to the postal student, believed to be attributed to J. Hull Wilson, with 1986 A.P.S. certificate.

image 1916, 2¢ carmine, type II, vertical coil (Scott 487), pair, a beautiful duo with intense, deep color, sharp image and perfect centering, along with a near-complete West Lafayette, Ind. wavy-line c.d.s. dated Nov. 22, 1944 (someone held on to these for two World Wars before using them!); the apparent "bite" out of the bottom stamp is actually the cancel striking the very edge…both stamps are complete and sound, Superb, unlisted/unpriced as 98 in SMQ; the highest grade recorded there is 95, with 2019 P.S.A.G. certificate graded 98.
