In two bound Gibbons New Imperial Stamp Albums, a grand tour of British philately from the Penny Black through the 1935 Golden Jubilee issue; spans the entirety of the Commonwealth, from Great Britain proper through Zululand, with much early material; particularly strong in Great Britain proper, Australia & States, British North America and Caribbean, India and States, Cape of Good Hope (including duplicated Triangles), Gibraltar, New Zealand, and South Africa; condition clean and sound throughout, with many Victorias including Cameos, Chalon Heads, and Britannias; note three Penny Blacks (cancel Maltese Crosses, 1 black, 2 red), two 2d blues (one each red and black Maltese Cross), myriad Penny Reds (including a complete, as printed, plating of the perforated issue) and perforated 2d blues, Seahorses and inverted watermarks; Australian 'Roos virtually complete (several mint), a mint 5c Brunei with Japanese Occupation overprint, Canada with Jubilees to 50¢ along with a pretty Bluenose and even prettier Mt. Approximately 2500 items in all, running pre-Penny Black to recent times; Britain dominates (as she always did), and we note every stamp/service type (Airs, Dues, Express, etc.), plus Customs and Censor tapes and hand stamps, a dual Britain-Switzerland franking, Newspaper handstamps on circulars, "Active Service" and "On War Service" envelopes, Specimen stationery from the King Edward VII period, private Railway Letter and Great Western Letter Exchange labels, etc., etc.; beyond the Sceptered Isle we note a world (literally) of items, including a Canadian Dogteam Mail cachet, Cyprus, Trinidad, Australia and States (New South Wales particularly well-represented), an apparently complete set of First Day Covers for the 1937 Coronation omnibus, and more; some early items include a Jan. 3, 1840 "Colombo/Post Paid" handstamp on a cover from Ceylon to London, an 1861 stampless letter sent Manchester to Lisbon via Southampton, and an incoming French cover from Paris, franked with 40c Napoléon tied by gros chiffres "3734", etc.; a lovely, clean holding, Fine to Very Fine or better, exchequer out.
