On July 16, 1909, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks held a parade in Los Angeles Cal. A post office was established at Tejon in July of 1857 at the site of the Sebastian (or Tejon) Indian Reservation (the first Indian reservation in California established in 1853) with Colonel James R.
