Mexico, 1856-61 First and Second Issue Illegal Reprints. Collection of nearly 400 first and second issue illegal reprints (Scott#1-12) mostly by Barral and Diaz ca 1895. 250+ have forged district overprints from Acapulco, Apam, Campeche, Chalco, Chiapas, Cuernavaca, Durango, Guanajuato, Jalapa, Lagos, Mexico, Maravatio, Queretaro, Morelia, Comitan, Veracruz, Tulancingo, Guadalajara y Temascaltepec, 125+ are uncancelled or with/without overprint, some pairs and blocks, also 20+ used forgeries on piece and cover including splits, extra 100+ Spiro forgeries of the same issue; a very useful lot for the specialist.

Mexico, 1872 Hidalgo Issue Collection. Organized by denomination and then by district, previous owner attempted to have one pretty stamp for each consignment number and denomination, 224 very nice and hand-picked mostly used stamps or pairs with no duplication showing 80% of the districts in most denominations (6c, 12c, 25c, 50c and 100c), many beautiful and rare cancels from small towns including Cuautla, Tonala, Perote,Ejutla, Huatusco, Viezca, Tabsco, Mazapil, Diligencias, Acapulco, Isla del Carmen, Iguala, Yanhuilan, Progreso, Matamoros, Juchitan, Otumba, Coapilla, San Francisco del Rincon, Piedra Gorda, Alvarado, Acayucan, Sierra Hermosa, Temascaltepec, Tehuantepec, Tuxtepec, etc.; most stamps have four margins, NF catalog for the stamps (not counting the premium for the cancels) is $4,022+.

Arranged in three large stockbooks, with a total of approximately 5,300 stamps and more than 600 100c issues; a major collection of these issues with section including wide apart numbers (1874-77), bottom numbers (1878), top numbers (1878-83) and without numbers (1883), with collector looking for mint, used (+ with sub-office usage), pen cancelled, district names in different sizes and colors, wove, wide horizontal laid paper, vertical laid & ribbed paper, Papel Sellado and LACROIX watermarks and every other possible variety, it took the owner over 50 years to assemble this collection; comes with simplified checklist of all three main issues, with items included in collection ex-Moorhouse, Laranaga, Widmaier and Cusanovitch.
