A RARE USAGE FROM FOOCHOW, CHINA TO THE SOURDOUGH ROAD HOUSE IN ALASKA.
The recipient, Thel Wattach was one of the "Three Lucky Swedes" that discovered gold at Anvil Creek in 1898. This letter contained U.S. immigration documents for Thel's wife's Chinese family. His roadhouse later became the Sourdough Lodge a few year later and was one of the oldest continuously operating roadhouses in Alaska. Est. $1,500-2,000 (Image)
