Large margins all around, beautiful rich color, used with 1862, 2d deep blue (36) with large margins and rich color, each tied by numeral "2" barred oval, matching "Russell, New-Zealand, FE 14, 1863" cds backstamp on cover to New Bedford Mass., Auckland (2.18) transit cds and magenta "8" pence credit rating to G.B., red London Paid (5.21) transit also ties stamps and matching "16/Cents" credit handstamp at left, sharp "Boston Am. Pkt. '5' Jun 3" debit exchange cds, New Bedford (6.4) arrival backstamp, original whaling letter datelined "Feb. 14th 1863, Port Russell, Bay of Islands"; small edge flaws and wear; 1s lifted by BPA for examination and hinged back, Very Fine and rare use, with 1994 B.P.A. certificate.
