Large margins, tied by "Loja, 19 Juil" second type cds on 1871 folded letter to Lima, Peru, letter carried overland with ½r paying the rate to the Ecuador border, reverse with oval "Piura" Peruvian transit handstamp and front with manuscript "10¢" (centimos) for inland carriage to Lima, "Lima, 1 Ago, 1871" receiving backstamp, Very Fine, ex-Goeggel.
Scott No. 2; Estimate $6,000 - 8,000.

AN EXCEPTIONAL AND UNIQUE OVERLAND USAGE TO PERU BEARING A SOLO ½ REALES ISSUE.
