image British Commonwealth Extensive Collection on Steiner Pages in 29 Albums, QV to 1970, with the mint stamps displayed in black mounts on good quality bond pages, with a mix of mint (including much never hinged) and used, covering what appears to be most countries. We note many complete sets, and loads of better singles and sets throughout, noting perforation varieties, and the collector has removed all of the KGV Jubilee, KGVI Coronation and Silver Wedding and QEII Coronation issues for his continuation. The collection was catalogued by the owner with an older Scott catalogue, and so we did a spot check of about a dozen pages, which resulted in about half now cataloguing more, and half less. It also appears that the owner did not factor in the never hinged premiums when required to, but also catalogued some fiscally used at full price, so the total catalogue value given of $49,880 is probably pretty close, if not conservative. The collection includes a few non-British Commonwealth collections such as United Nations ($275) and Vatican ($1,288). Overall nice quality, with a quick spot check only revealing one stamp with a thin and a few small faults, mostly on high value stamps. We have scanned many pages our website to give an idea, but recommend in-person viewing of this one. (Image)
