image Asia Various Asian Countries Mostly Mint Accumulation in Two Binders and One Stockbook, with Thailand, Bhutan, Nepal, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Macau and more. Thailand is represented with 14 Vario pages full of unsorted mint and used stamps. We noted Scott #293-4 MH (CV $390), many early overprinted issues which we did not attempt to catalogue. While Thailand is generally stronger in the early issues to 1960, a few sets from the 1990s are also included. Bhutan fills 8 stock pages and a few album pages. It includes lots of lenticular stamps, some in full sets. There are 10 pages of Afghanistan, mainly from the 1880s to the 1960s, the earlier mainly used, and the later mainly mint hinged and unhinged. Nepal starts with a group of 10 stamps from the first design (see scan), and goes on to about 1965. A small stock card holds 5 Tibet stamps, including a used Scott # 12 (CV $120). An almost complete Ryukyu Islands MH collection 1958 - 1971 on 4 album pages with some extra MNH copies on 2 stockpiles. A group of Indonesia stamps overprinted for RIAU Archipelago comprising 18 MNH copies of 10 different values between Scott #2 and 22 (CV $658), plus a 32-page stock book full of Indonesia from 1948 to about 1970 in reasonable duplication. Owner’s CV for this stockbook alone is $554. Many thousands of stamps. Very fine. (Image)

Well worth having a close look at this one, catalogue value is from 2018. (J.O.) (Image)

image British Commonwealth Lovely Old Time Collection of War Tax Stamps and Covers, purchased by the owner in 1947 from Harmer Rooke and tucked away since then (a few stamps have been added) thus with fresh bright colours. The collection is neatly displayed and written-up on about 85 quadrille pages and consists of mint and used stamps (including blocks, plate blocks, varieties) plus used on piece and at least 55 covers (mostly registered to the USA) from 26 different countries, including several pages of Canada. Unfortunately many (not all) of the mint stamps have stuck down to the pages due to humid storage. We have very easily unstuck some simply by passing a tong fork underneath, and can say that many more will easily be removed. Some are quite stuck (such as many of the Canada) and will require soaking off, unless owner is content to simply admire the fresh and bright colours of an intact collection. Our many scans only show a portion of the collection. (Image)
