1932 $1.50 on $1.00 Blue Dornier DO-X Air Mail with Inverted Red Surcharge, mint lightly hinged, very fine. The stamp has a few unobtrusive expert and owner signatures and handstamps on back. Of the 8,000 surcharged stamps issued, it is believed that about 52 had an inverted surcharge (13 blocks of four). A lovely example of this world rarity, rarely offered and accompanied by a 1972 Royal Philatelic Society certificate. Rsv. $16,000. (Image)
