Large Lot of Federal Excise Tax Revenue Meters, in four envelope boxes containing a total of over 8,000 (conservatively counted) early 1950s cheques from "Canada Life Assurance", the vast majority franked with van Dam listed (page 119) 3c red type "H" meters (meter #149007). The 2017 catalogue values these at $10 and up, so total catalogue value is about $80,000 for the lot. These are the first we have handled, and may possibly be the only such holding around, so would be a perfect lot for the collector or dealer. (Image)

A very interesting group for many reasons, such as some are illustrated and most have stamps affixed to them. Majority are Admiral postage stamps (mostly 2c green and 2c carmine), but also Admiral War Tax revenues, Admiral War Tax postage stamps and Excise stamps, with many different denominations, frankings, etc. Scans show only a sampling.
