Group of Four Imperforate Flag Coil Items, all mint never hinged and includes #1194Cg (strip of four, $750), 1394a (pair, $225), 1396a (strip of 4, $400) and 1396a (strip of four with bottom stamp perforated, $200). A very fine group. (Image)
1991 42c Flag Imperforate, a mint never hinged horizontal pair, with a light paper clip bend on the left stamp (could probably be pressed-out), still very fine and one of the better modern imperforates. (Image)
1990 39c Canadian Folklore Legendary Creatures Imperforate sheet of 50, mint never hinged, showing only "traffic lights" in all corners and missing both the printer's imprints and McDonald's advertising. Catalogue value is for 4x corner blocks, 6x blocks of four and 5 pairs (1292ii) of the imperforate issued stamps. Accompanied by a 2020 Greene Foundation certificate identifying it as a "trial printing proof sheet on paper slightly thinner than the issued stamps, without marginal inscriptions and tagging widths slightly different than issued stamps". This sheet originally sold for $5,600 (plus fee) in our January auction, but unfortunately got damaged during its travel back from post-auction certification (14mm tear at top extending into one of the stamps, plus a few light creases at top and bottom); we are therefore now offering it again, but without reserve. 1994 43c Flag Over Field with Double Impression, mint never hinged block of four with sheet margin at left, with clear offset doubling of all colours, very fine. Rsv. $160. (Image)

2005 (51c) Red Bergamot Blossom Coil with Missing Orange and Brown Colours, the two missing colours represent the missing orange ("51") and missing brown ("Canada" and a small part of the flower) as well as the same two missing colours on the attached gutter tab. The stamp has the same tagging as a regular stamp with all 5 colours, helping to prove that there was no chemical manipulation to remove the colours. Because the attached gutter tab does not have a "C" (for TRC paper) or an "F" (for Fasson paper), the stamp received an in-depth technical report from the Greene Foundation, which resulted in their use of the VSC6000 video spectoral comparator machine. This clearly showed an important difference in fluorescence between the two papers of regular stamps, thus permitting an identification of this specimen to be from the TRC printing. This technical report, as well as a 2020 Green Foundation certificate accompany the stamp, which is not only the discovery copy, but so far the only known example of this variety. (Image)
