image Group of Interesting Modern Varieties, all displayed on two double-sided stock pages, with a variety of different interesting items including printed on gum side, mis-perforations (some quite dramatic), several printing ink smudges, imperforate-between pairs, colour shifts, unsevered coil pairs, blocks, etc, and a mint corner block of 9 of Scott #813 (17c Turtle) with a large piece of tape on back, seemingly applied before the perforation process, and would have normally been done to patch up a severed sheet during the printing process, but the printed side shows no paper faults. Overall very fine group of 45 items (singles, pairs, blocks, etc.). An interesting lot, all pictured online. (Image)

image Mint and Used Collection, 1870 to 1974, all in mounts housed in two Minkus albums with matching slipcases. Starting off with a nice group of over sixty SQs with corks (we saw a nice strike of Lacelle 1373 on a pair of 1¢ SQs), fancy cancels or pre-cancels followed by complete used set of SQs, nearly complete set of Jubilees (missing only the $3 value, mint from ½¢ to $1), then sparsely filled with used until the late 1940s. We noted a used Bluenose, some better back of the book such as a mint 8¢ registered, a group of mint Official overprints (including the $1 Peace issue "G" and "O.H.M.S." and $1 Fisherman), and more. Also included is a small group of mint stamps housed in one stockbook, used stamps in envelopes sorted by catalogue number, about forty American and Canadian FDCs mostly from the 1960s. We sampled some of the mint stamps and can report that they were lightly hinged. Clean lot, well worth a close inspection. See scans for a glimpse of the content. (Image)
