1868 3c Red Large Queen on Thick Soft White "Blotting" Paper, unused (no gum) with rich colour and fairly nicely centered, fine-very fine. A rare unused example of this difficult paper variety, one of the few known sound copies and certainly one of the finest. A must have for any serious collector of this beautiful issue. A fresh and well centered stamp showing a variety "dot in right 1", flaw 5 in Duckworth, described by Harrison as having "occurred rather early in the life of the plate". Collection of 15c Large Queens, with 227 in all, including 6 unused or mint, all displayed on black stock sheets, sorted by shade and printing (about half and half of #29 and 30) with each stamp identified by (in order) Kiusalas perforation, vertical dimension, Duckworth paper and Firth / Menich type.
