Group of 16 Forgeries, appears to be mostly Spiro or Taylor creations, with mint and cancelled, different colours with a good variety but a few duplicates. We note one which was cut from the Bartlett letterhead, on unwatermarked paper and perforated to appear as a genuine stamp. A popular group, some with faults . (Image)
1851 3d red Heraldic Imperforate, used with a crisp oval grid numeral 8 (in blue, Chatham RF 5). The stamp has four large to very large margins, showing one neighbouring stamp. Two small thins, still very fine appearance. (Image)
1851 3d red Heraldic Imperforate, two used singles of different shades, with light numeral grid cancels, one is fine with a thin, the other is fine and sound. (Image)
1851 1d dark red Heraldic Imperforate, with two complete stamps plus a bisected half, all tied to a small piece (folded between stamps) by two #1 oval grid cancels. The left stamp is fine, the middle one is very fine (showing part of next stamp at top) but has a small thin in the top margin, and the bisected copy is fine. Accompanied by a 2007 Greene Foundation certificate stating "no opinion on usage". An interesting piece, as 7½d was the proper rate for covers mailed to the UK from 1854 to 1860 and the Wilkinson collection, for example, had three covers franked in the same manner. (Image)
1851 6d Heraldic Plate Proof in Black, a sheet margin block of twelve, on thin card with large even margins and quite fresh, with a light vertical bend at right, visible from back only, still probably one of the largest multiples in existence, very fine and impressive. Ex. Nicholas Argenti (1963). Rsv. $2,500. (Image)
1851 6d olive yellow Heraldic Imperforate, used with neat corner oval grid cancel. The stamp possesses four well clear margins and is fine-very fine, save for a thin. (Image)
