1898 2c Map, a group of 33 mint stamps, mostly in singles, but also a strip of 3 and a marginal strip of 5 (pos. 40-80). We note a good range of shades ranging from grey to deep blue, with several "muddy waters". One stamp is described by owner as "plate 2 pos. 39 with many re-entries, NH". Mix of hinged and never hinged and centring varies from fine to very fine. All catalogued as hinged, so actual catalogue will be higher. (Image)

There is a natural gum bend down the 4th column, else a fresh and fine plate block. The distance between the 4th and 5th column surcharges is 5mm (as opposed to the 4mm required to be "narrow spacing") others are 7mm. (Image)

1899 2c on 3c carmine Queen Victoria Surcharges, with Leaf issue (6 singles, a pair and a narrow spacing block of four) and Numeral issue (5 singles and a pair). The majority are mint hinged, a few are NH but counted as hinged because of other gum problems, and some have disturbed gum. Centring is fine to very fine and we note a few minor surcharge varieties / placement. (Image)
1899 2c on 3c carmine Queen Victoria Numeral Surcharge, a mint never hinged block of thirty from the top of the sheet, with part plate 1 inscription in top selvedge. There is a small stain on the top left and top right stamps, and there is a bit of separation. The distance between the surcharge columns varies between 5 and 7mm, but catalogue value is for all regular spacing and all very fine centred stamps. (Image)
