image Carton Filled with Tens of Thousands of Used Stamps, including early to modern issues all off paper sorted by country and compactly housed in "zip lock style" bags. As an example, we opened a bag of France stamps which revealed a much larger quantity then expected (see photo online). A large proportion of the content is made of commemorative issues. We noted a good variety of countries such as Germany, GB, Spain, France, Russia, Nederland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium and more. Also included are smaller lots of Asian, Latin and African countries. Close inspection could yield some surprises. (Image)

image Used Collection on Scott Pages to 1991, starts with 6 of the deep rouletted early stamps, a very good showing of the Russian issues and then, from 1917 to 1991 is nearly complete, only missing a few stamps here and there, both in the regular and semi-postal sections and also including souvenir sheets and many booklets. We noted Scott #152 used (CV $400). Two pages of Aland Islands and a few stamps from East Karelia and North Ingermanland complete this high quality collection. (Image)

image Mint and Used Collection in Lighthouse Hingeless Album, Finland is to 1970, Aland Islands to 2006 and also includes East Karelia and North Ingermanland. Pre 1948, Finland is a mixture of used and MH then, after 1948 appears totally MNH, both for regular and semi-postal stamps. Finland is almost complete from 1915 on. Aland is also almost complete as MNH and includes most booklets. We noted parcel post Sc Q6-13 MNH (Sc $165) and complete occupation of East Karelia. (Image)

image Mint and Used Collection in Two Albums, 1849 to 1987, starts with a good representation of early classics, with shades, postmarks, better values (5fr is damaged, 1fr appears to be a Fournier forgery), with very few missing regular issue stamps until the end. Saw a good representation of Semi-Postals, different Dies of the 1939-31 high value buildings, a few millésime pairs, a toned Pexip souvenir sheet, Airmails, Postage Dues, Precancels and more. A very nice collection put together with care and overall fine or better. The owner counted his catalogue value at $25,000 but due to some mis-catalogued items we estimate a more realistic number to be around $15,000. Rsv. (Image)

image Mint and Used Collection 1862-2009 in Two Binders. The collection is on Yvert pages to 1998 and then mostly on Minkus pages. Some useful Peace & Commerce and Sowers, then becoming about 50% complete to 1932 and about 80% complete 1932 to the end. Mostly used in VF condition with some MH and MNH stamps. Some MNH souvenir sheets from 1999 on. Back of the book consists mainly of semi-postals distributed in the main collection, airmails and postage due. Handmade pages at the back contain numerous recent and much sought after used self-adhesive stamps and some stock pages hold Red Cross and commemorative booklets as well as MNH souvenir sheets, some as recent as 2009. A very useful collection ready for completion. Some faults noted on earlier material. (Image)

Most albums are on Minkus sheets to about 2004, thought the majority of the stamps are from the period to the 1980s. Countries with better completion are Guinea, Djibouti, Laos, Dahomey, Togo, Saar, etc. Great thematic interest throughout. Some faults noted on earlier material. (Image)
