image Valuable Mint Never Hinged Collection in a Lindner Hingeless Album, 1897 to 1973, a lovely collection which we have left intact, complete for regular issues in period, missing only the Admiral and Scroll coils, and most of the other coils that are present are in pairs. The back of the book is also complete in period with air mails, OHMS and G overprinted officials and postage dues, registration (the 8c was counted as hinged, although it is never hinged but has gum disturbances), war tax (MR6 was not counted, but includes the diagonal WAR TAX overprinted set), and there are two copies of C1 and C4. Catalogue value given is for all back of the book, plus only up to 1951 for regular issues, and was counted for all very fine centered stamps (the majority are, although a handful of stamps are not as well centered). We have also only counted the cheapest shades or papers listed, so there may be a few surprises. There is a Richard Gratton AIEP certificate accompanying stamps # 73, 102, 103, 116 and MR2B. A nice quality collection (#102 has sustained a stain on front since it was certified and the 2c RLS is sulphuretted) and it is immediately apparent that the collector sought out only quality, never hinged stamps. We show many scans online, close inspection should impress even further. (Image)

Overall quality is fresh, with centering ranging from fine to very fine, and catalogued by owner as all never hinged, but an inspection of a few dozen better items revealed one hinged stamp, the 5c Québec.
