image Collection of 25 Transatlantic Covers, 1816 to 1866, all mailed to UK from NB, or from NB to UK. The 1816 folded letter is datelined St John, with Liverpool Ship Letter handstamp, one other was mailed from NB to the UK, rest are mailed from the UK to New Brunswick. Four covers (incl. three mourning) are on a stock sheet and the rest are all mounted on quadrille pages with extensive write-ups of the routes, rates and postmarks. A great collection for the specialist, overall fine, and all scanned online. (Image)

image Lovely Collection of New Brunswick Grid Numeral Cancels on Stamp, all mounted on three quadrille pages by number. We counted 7 New Brunswick stamps (Pence and Cents), 4 Large Queens and 28 Small Queens, plus a 2c Edward and a 3c Jubilee. Overall nice quality of strikes, most are easily identifiable. A nice collection for continuation or to add material to an existing collection. Unchecked by us for better numbers. (Image)

image The Mitchell Nova Scotia Mining Find, 1860s to 1910s, being well over 900 covers (no contents) mailed to Henry Mitchell, in Little Glace Bay, Old Bridgeport Mines or Dominion, Nova Scotia. There is a good variety of material including different frankings (over 200 3c SQ, Leafs, Numerals, Jubilees, Edwards, Admirals), some stationery cards including a few advertised on back, a lovely 1c SQ private post card from 1897an 1895 8c SQ registered cover, an 1893 3cSQ + 5c RLS registered cover, a carton having been used to mail photos (franked with pair of 1c SQ), a lovely illustrated book post carton wrapper (franked 1c SQ), two 1879 Promissory Notes for $350 each, franked with strips of 4 of 3c SQ paying the tax, a printed circular mailed from Halifax to Little Glace Bay in December 1867 franked with a 1c QV Nova Scotia Cents issue, a few picture postcards, a parcel wrapper franked with 9x 8c SQ plus a lovely red wax seal from the "Chief Gold Commissioner" in Halifax, and more. Also includes many covers mailed from the USA, about 7 from the Philippines and some from GB and other countries. See our Hawaii postal history section for a lot of covers having been mailed to him from there. A nice, original find (these are getting more and more difficult to find) with lots of postmark interest (mostly from Nova Scotia including broken circles, duplex, etc). Obvious opening and other faults on the majority of the lot, still many interesting items. (Image)

(JAN.14.1913 broken circle in black) to Bombay, India (FEB.8 receiver) through St Johns (JAN.19 transit), franked with a single 2c rose carmine Map of Newfoundland, just tied by a blue grid. Nascopie Ship Wreck Covers, includes a multi-colour map cachet cover franked with the 4c Bell stamp, tied with an oval "Eastern Arctic Patrol / Canada AUG 1 1947" handstamp in purple. Also a 1c printed matter rate cover depicting an igloo and dogsled cachet, which has a 2-line handstamp reading "Salvaged from Steamer Nascopie / Sunk off Cape Dorset July 22, 1947" in purple, as well as a "Carried by Relief Ship / North Pioneer" handstamp in red, stamp is tied by a Dundas Harbour N.W.T.
