image 5c red brown Franklin Imperforate on 1850 Folded Cover, mailed from Calais, Maine (lovely c.d.s. in red) to New York City and docketed inside "NOV.6.1850". The cover (no contents) is franked with a horizontal pair of 5c Franklin imperforates, with huge margins on three sides (showing parts of two stamps at top) just cut into at bottom left, neatly tied by two circular grids in red. There is a horizontal crease near the bottom of the cover, affecting the bottom corner of the left stamp only, still a very fine and appealing cover. (Image)
