5c red brown Franklin Imperforate on 1850 Folded Cover, mailed from Calais, Maine (lovely c.d.s. in red) to New York City and docketed inside "NOV.6.1850". The cover (no contents) is franked with a horizontal pair of 5c Franklin imperforates, with huge margins on three sides (showing parts of two stamps at top) just cut into at bottom left, neatly tied by two circular grids in red. There is a horizontal crease near the bottom of the cover, affecting the bottom corner of the left stamp only, still a very fine and appealing cover. (Image)

1847 5c red brown Franklin and 10c black Washington Imperforates, three items, including a 5c single with four large to clear margins, pen cancel and part red cancel but with faults. Also a 5c horizontal pair with three clear margins, cut into at bottom, with pen cancels but faded and with several small faults (this accompanied by a 1998 PSE certificate). 5c light orange brown Franklin Imperforate on 1851 Folded Letter, mailed from Philadelphia (postmark illegible, but letter inside clearly datelined MAY.7.1851) to Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. The folded letter is franked with a 5c light orange brown, with huge margins (showing next stamp at top) all around, slightly cut into at bottom and cancelled by a partial blue c.d.s. The letter has a vertical crease extending through the stamp, still an attractive item. Accompanied by a 2010 W.R. Weiss certificate. (Image)
5c Franklin and 10c Washington Plate Proofs, the 5c red brown Franklin is on card and the 10c black Washington is on India paper. The latter is slightly different than the Scott listing in that it is on yellowish paper, perhaps it is a variant of Scott #4P2a, which is listed on yellowish wove paper at $2,750. 1875 10c black Washington Imperforate "Reproduction", unused (no gum, as issued) with intense shade and a crisp impression. Large margins all around, with trivial paper thinning at top (mostly in margin), else a very fine and attractive stamp. (Image)
1851 10c grey black Washington Imperforate, used with a light blue cancel, three large margins, plus one just cut into at bottom. The stamp has a corner crease plus some black ink stains on back, still fine appearance. (Image)
1857-61 3c dull red Washington, Perforated 15½, Type III, a mint block of four, with full never hinged original gum, stain at top right of top right stamp, still overall fine. Catalogue value is for hinged only. (Image)
1863-67 2c black Jackson Collection, starts with a neat drop cover with Philadelphia target duplex, two copies with the F grill (Scott 93, at top of page), an E grill (Scott 87 with pulled perf at right, second row of page). The rest are regular Scott 73, including two unused (no gum, one signed by Paris expert Brun) and one which appears regummed, plus 24 used singles with a variety of postmarks (saw an intaglio "CA" cork), different papers, etc. Overall fine, some may have small faults, still a useful lot for the specialist.
