image First issue on 1864 Folded Letter, mailed JAN.13.1864 (large PEI c.d.s. on back) addressed to The Hon. John Longworth in Charlottetown. Interestingly, the letter is signed by, and addressed to Longworth, and the dateline inside is from Charlottetown, but addressed to Mr. Neil Crawford in Wood Islands (at the very southern tip of PEI). Franked by two 2d dull rose Queen Victoria perforated 9, each tied by an oval grid. Faults, still a scarce double-weight (or re-mailed) franking, accompanied by a 2019 Greene Foundation certificate. Rsv. (Image)

image 1862 1d orange yellow Queen Victoria, Perforated 11½ x 12, a mint sheet of 30, with full original gum, never hinged. The sheet has intact selvedge (some separation in places), is quite fresh and catalogued as very fine. The sheet shows several plate flaws, such as position 2 (white spot in hair), position 6 (spot on neck and dot after "O"), position 21 (break in E of "ONE", dot on forehead, dot in front of forehead and white spot on neck), and other minor ones. image 1862 2d deep rose Queen Victoria, Perforated 11.7, a mint sheet of 60, with full original gum, never hinged. The sheet has its full selvedge all around, with slight toning in a few places (light stain on pos. 51), and the stamps are overall very fine centered (and catalogued as such). We noted many printing varieties, some of which include pos. 4 (flaw in tiara), pos. 10 (dot between I and S), pos. 30 (thin "T"), pos. 32 (white spot at top of head), pos. 39 (dot at left of "S" of POSTAGE), pos. 45 (spot behind head), pos. 48 (slash in "E"), and does not show the constant flaw in "O" of TWO of pos. 54, and thus is probably from an early printing. image 1862 3d blue Queen Victoria, Perforated 12, a mint sheet of 30 with full original gum, never hinged. A lovely sheet, with all of its selvedge intact and with overall well centered stamps (catalogued as all very fine). We noted many plate varieties, some of which include pos. 9 (slash in "C" of PENCE), pos. 16 (constant variety "break in "R"), pos. 18 (large dot above "C" of PENCE), pos. 23 (two dots at lower left), pos. 24 (dot between N and C of PRINCE) and others. A nice sheet. (Image)

image 1868 4d black Queen Victoria, Perforated 12, a mint sheet of 30 with full original gum, never hinged. The sheet has its full selvedge and is quite fresh, with a diagonal crease in the lower right corner, affecting one stamp. There are many printing varieties on this one, noting for example pos. 1 (large dot behind Queen's eye), pos. 18 (interesting series of lines in left margin), pos. 19 (lesser "FOUP" constant variety), pos. 28 (truncated E of Edward, dot on N of ISLAND) and others. Centering varies, but was catalogued as overall very fine. (Image)
